Translation:
1. I remember the expedition of eight men, which has brought grief to my mind; part of their expedition I do not conceal, although I am no longer strong.
2. Osgar and shapely Caoilte, and Mac Lughach <who earned praise>, Fionn and white-toothed Diarmaid – these were five daring men of our eight.
3. I myself and Raighne and Caireall [were included] – it was a pleasant faultless band; we excelled [all others in] the land of Ireland; those were the names of our eight.
4. There are many proven tales about us – we were brave, <a proud fian-band>; we set off from the fort of the Son of Cumhall; I remember the expedition of eight.
5. We captured the fort of the king of Scotland – it was hard for us to reach it; a king fell by the hand of the Son of Cumhall; I remember the expedition of eight.
6. With all the English blood we spilled, many a ditch in that land ran red; it was Fionn who enriched every landowner; I remember the expedition of eight.
7. We fought a battle in Italy – hostility was encountered in its strongholds; we won victory and took tribute; I remember the expedition of eight.
