For every learner, and fluent-speaker of Gaelic likewise, we have an intriguement and interest in Gaelic similies. Some of them are very similar to other languages, as is clear in the blog here (“Seanfhaclan agus Shennocklen”) but some of them are very different and unique to us only. We will have a look at what we have in out Fieldwork archive and from other books: “Gaelic Proverbs and Proverbial Sayings (With English Translations)”, by T. D. MacDonald; “Campbells Collection of Proverbs”; and “Gaelic Proverbs” by Alexander Nicolson.A
