sgagachused of a person who has difficulty stringing words and sentences together in a cogent manner.
cùl cheallaichwooden hinges on old type doors.
trògha home-made rope, made from sea bent. Used for securing hay and corn stacks. Also used when thatching. Prior to thatching this rope would be tied across the rafters from one end to the other so that the thatch would not simply fall through the rafters. Have to remember wood was not so plentiful at that time.

mota wooden chimney suspended above the fire in the centre of the floor and tapering towards the roof of the house.
caight chreathadha partition built in old houses made from lime and small stones. Informant not clear if this was the term for the wall or if it meant the method used to erect it.
susaladhto decrease, lessen. For e.g. the pension – “Tha e air a dhol a susaladh.”
ceann deargainpart of a rainbow which was an indication of poor weather. Same as ‘adag chruaidh’ previously described.
casan searraichpreviously described under ‘casan cainnbe’. Called ‘casan searraich’ since the sun rays look like the feet [of] a foal when newly born.
caileabaused of an awkward and temperamental horse. Also used for human equivalent.
caranused of an unsurly [sic] [surly?], unpleasant man especially when drinking. The word has this drink association.

[sgrogag]Sgrogag dheiridh, sgrogag thoisich – bits of wood protruding at front and rear of a cart. Rear ones prevented the cart from tipping too far.
