John Allan "Johnny" MacLennan (Seonaidh mac Dhonnchaidh ‘ic Mhurchaidh Eoghainn Dhonnchaidh) was born September 22, 1908 in Blues Mills to Duncan and Katie Effie (MacPherson). His people came from Lochcaron, Rosshire in 1821.

Johnny married Agnes Isabelle MacKinnon of Mount Young. They had three children, Richard, Catherine, and Johnena.

Over the course of his life, Johnny pursued a range of occupations, working as a traveling salesman, employment at the gypsum plant in Little Narrows, establishing and operating the local Texaco gas station, before finishing his working years as a mail driver. In this collection he shares some humorous locally composed songs.

Johnny passed away in 1989 and is buried in the Upper River Denys Cemetery.
