Malcolm Archibald Campbell of Woodbine, near Sydney River, was an exceptional informant on the traditions of his area. The Campbells originated in Kilmuir, Skye. Gifted with second sight, he could relate many stories of his experiences with portents of death. Malcolm was also knowledgeable of Scotch music and taught fiddling.
Born on September 29, 1911, he was the son of Archibald Campbell of Forest Glen, Inverness County and Jessie MacKinnon. He married Sarah “Sadie” Ann MacKinnon from Woodbine.
