Geographical Origins Notes[Noted added 11/4/18:] Typographia Scoto-Gadelica (1915), p. 213, gives another religious work by an Archibald MacFadyen: 'Saorsa an anama. Laoidh nuadh le Gilleasbuig Mac-Phaidein, a Eilein Cholasa nis an Glascho'. This was published in Campbeltown, and NLS gives 1837 as the publication date. It is therefore likely that the translator of Cunntas aithghearr mu eachdruidh nam Baisteach was the same 'Gilleasbuig Mac Phaidein', and from Colonsay. However, this should be verified.
