William Stewart of Grimsay tells a story in 1996 about the supernatural: fisherman who travelled to Dunvegan and charms they received. Another story is told about a woman who cursed Benbecula because she was exiled from the island. Stories about ships going missing and of men drowning. One ship grounded when there had been a famine in Uist, and the people were saved from starvation by the cargo from that ship.
