Other info: In partnership with the Centre for Cape Breton Studies at Cape Breton University, the Beaton Institute digitises sound and moving image content as requested and on a preservation and access schedule. We currently hold over 3TB of digitised sound and moving image material with approximately 40% of our sound recordings and 20% of our moving image holdings digitised. The holdings relating to Cape Breton Scottish Gaelic song, instrumental music, and speech are vast for an institution of our size, with new fonds and collections added annually.
