GF329i06 ÒRAN HALL SCOTSVILLE

Beulaiche: Gilleasbuig Eòghainn Dhòmhnaill | Archie Dan MacLellan
Bàrd: John James Dunbar

[Séist:] Gur bochd mar-thà, ged tha e fliuch,
Gur bochd a' sgeul bhiodh ann an-diugh,
Gum biodh an outlet fo lionn-dubh,
Is nigheanan fo phràmhan.

Thuirt Eòghann frame e siud leam fhéin,
Tha Johnny Dunbar 'na dhuine treun,
Ach nam biodh tu a' siud leat fhéin,
A' Chaluim, chaidh do bhàthadh.

We fed our horse with oats and hay,
And off we went at break of day,
Gur beag bhiodh fhios aig duine fhéin,
A' rud a bhiodh an dàn dha.

'S dh'éibh an caiptean, 's e air a' chairt,
"I lost my compass and my chart,
There's no insurance on this craft,
I would like to find a harbour."

[Flora MacLellan:]—Frame e siud rium fhéin,
Bha Johnny Dunbar 'na dhuine treun,
Ach nam biodh e siud ris fhéin,
A Chaluim, chaidh 'ur bàthadh.

[AML:] John J., cha chreid nach e ris an canadh 'ad John James Dunbar, cho fad's a tha sinn, tha mi 'smaoineach gur e an duine.

[FML:] Tha mi 'creid, John James Dunbar.

[John Shaw:] Dunbar, seadh.

[FML:] Dunbar shuas a' léig.
