GF276i07 AN CÙ GLIC (EACHANN DOINK) Beulaiche: Iain mac Phàdruig Iain | John Dan MacKinnon Bha Eachann ag innse, cù bh' aige trip, cho glic 's a bha e. Bhiodh e dol a dh'iarraidh a' chruidh, ach, "An là bha seo," thuirt e, "dh'fhalbh mi 's thionndaidh mi 'n clock. Bhiodh e tighinn astigh, a h-uile feasgar mu shia uairean, is choimheadadh e air a' chlock 's chàireadh e rithe a dh'iarraidh a' chruidh. Ach, am feasgar a bha seo, dh'fhalbh mise 's thionndaidh mi an clock an rathad eile—chuir mi aghaidh ris a' bhalla. Ach, cò dhiù, thàinig an cù astigh; bha e coimhead mun cuairt 's a' bìgeil; chaidh e mach, shuidh e muigh 's bha…chuir e spòg os cionn a shùilean 's bha e coimhead air a' ghréin…an deanadh e mach de 'n t-àm a bha e! The Smart Dog Hector was telling about a dog he had one time, how smart he was. He used to go for the cattle but, "This day," said he, "I went and turned the clock around. He used to come in every evening about six o'clock and he would look at the clock and then head out to get the cattle. But, this evening, I went and turned the clock the opposite way—I turned its face to the wall. Anyhow, the dog came in; he was looking around and whining; he went out, sat outside and was…he put his paw over his eyes and checked the sun…to figure out the time!
