Dan A. MacPherson
Eachdraidh-bheatha | Biography
Dan MacPherson was a native of New Boston, near Marion Bridge. He moved to Sydney as a young man and spent many years working as a bus driver, living on Townsend Street. His family traced their roots to North Uist.
A lover of Gaelic song, Dan was a regular presence at Gaelic events and a loyal member of the Cape Breton Gaelic Society. He was known for his warm, social nature and could often be found at milling frolics across the island — always happy to share a tune and enjoy a good cup of tea.
Dan is remembered as an old-fashioned gentleman, full of Gaelic and full of heart. He cherished the language and its songs and was always eager to share them with younger generations, encouraging them to learn and carry the tradition forward.
