Anna ni'n Shandaidh Choinnich Iain

Annie Mae MacLeod (née MacDermid) was born April 12, 1912 in Sydney Mines and raised in Wreck Cove. She was the daughter of Alexander MacDermid and Christy Ann MacLeod, whose ancestors, like many in the area, came from Harris.She married Malcolm Angus MacLeod, who is also featured in the Cape Breton Folklore Collection, and together they farmed in Birch Plain. Their home was known for its warm hospitality, abundant food, and lively Gaelic singing. Though they had no children, they loved company, and their home was often filled with music, laughter, and storytelling.
