Alec Dan MacLellan

Alec Dan MacLellan was born April 1906 to Angus Y. MacLellan and Margaret MacDougall, descendants of settlers from Morar. He grew up on Margaree Island, where his father, a renowned bard, served as the lighthouse keeper. Alec Dan was one of eight siblings: Peggy, James, Murdock, Lauranna, Flora Ann, Duncan, and Thompson. Alec Dan worked as a fisherman in Broad Cove and later in Inverness and took great pride in his boat, the Paula Pauline. He is fondly remembered as a kind and considerate neighbor and friend, a true gentleman whose presence enriched the lives of those around him.
