Danaidh Dhòmhnaill Bhàin

Daniel “Danny” MacDonald was born October 18, 1904 in North River Bridge, Victoria County. His MacDonald ancestors came from Harris, Scotland. He was the son of Donald ‘Bàn’ MacDonald and Sarah Smith. On July 18, 1942, he married Margaret Tena MacDonald, and together they made their home on the Meadow Road, where they raised five children.

Danny worked as a carpenter in the Sydney area for most of his career. He was a dedicated member of St. Andrew’s Church in North River, where he sang in the church choir, and he was also an active member of the Orange Lodge in the community. He died February 9, 1985.
