Peigi ni'n Iain 'ic Dhòmhnuill

Mary Margaret (Peggy) was the daughter of John Kennedy and Catherine Smith of Broad Cove. Born November 16, 1868 on what was locally known as "Gusset Mountain," now known as Broad Cove Chapel. Peggy’s Kennedys came from Canna, Scotland, to Parrsboro originally in 1791, and then to Broad Cove in 1808.

Peggy died in Inverness December 11, 1978 where she lived for many years on Forest Street with her brother Dan who lived to be 106. She never married. Her sister Katie Ann (Mrs John Gillis) lived to be 98. Peggy was aged 99 when she was recorded for the Cape Breton Folklore Collection.
