Maclean Sinclair (NSARM MG 1, vol. 2660, no. 256), the Sagairt Àrasaig mentions the hymn and the first verse. According to him the full poem had thirteen verses and was printed in the first number of An Cuairtear Òg Gaelach. |

The Sagairt Àrasaig goes on to mention that An Cuairtear Òg Gaelach recycled much of its content from Cuairtear nan Gleann, a monthly publication produced in Scotland between 1840-43. |
