Allan 'the Ridge' MacDonald was from the family styled 'Sliochd an Taighe', the Bohuntin MacDonalds of Lochaber. He emigrated to Nova Scotia in 1816 and settled with his family in Mabou Ridge, before they moved to Upper South River in Antigonish County in 1847. |
