The metadata for the Cape Breton Gaelic Folklore Collection has been compiled from an index at St FX University and additional information was entered by volunteers during online transcription frolics in 2021. At the end of the Language in Lyrics project in March 2022, the metadata is still incomplete and it is hoped that further funding will be secured for a project dedicated to expanding the metadata and completing transcriptions for these songs. |

Notes 4 |
Lauchie supplied the following preface: a song for Father Donald Chisholm, who was the parish priest in Broad Cove for twenty years. Father Chisholm was the seventh pastor to serve Broad Cove and was there over the years from 1876 - 1896. The composer was Lauchie's great grandfather and this composition ranks as no small acheivement since Archibald was at least ninety years old at the time.
