Notes 1 | Short ditty. The following little song was taken down from the singing of Danny Cameron (Dòmhnall Ciorstaidh Dhàibhi) by Dr. Kenneth Nilsen, Chair of the Celtic Studies Department of St. Francis Xavier University, in Malden, Massachusetts, on February 24, 1987. The first verse was actually recorded from of Sally (Sarah) Steele, a descendant of the bard; She learned the song from Danny Cameron. It was also recorded and transcribed by Dr. Nilsen in Antigonish, Nova Scotia, May 15th, 1988. Danny Cameron credited the Sagairt Àrasaig, Fr. Ronald MacGillivray, with the composition. |
